Asanas poses of the animals and the earth


 1. Matsyasana & Matsyendrasana ( THE FISH POSE ) मत्स्यासन 

     In this pose practitioner needs to lie on the back, with legs extended and elbows drawn beneath the body. An inhale lifts the chest towards the ceiling , while the head drops back and the crown touches the floor . Just as there are many types of fish in the sea, there are many variations in this pose. 

   


 2. Chandrasana & Ardha Chandrasana ( MOON AND HALF-MOON POSE) चंद्रासन 

    In this pose practitioner is in a a standing lunge position, with the back knee off the floor. The arms reach up, and the spine stays long. 

Ardha Chandrasana is also a standing pose, but it is requires more balance and attention. While standing up on one foot with the corresponding g hand on the floor, you need to stretch out the body, reaches back with the other leg, and reaches up with the free hand. Eventually, the practitioner needs to turn the head to look at the sky. 

3. Bhujangasana (THE COBRA POSE) भुजंगासन 

    It is a simple back-bend pose . The practitioner needs to lie on the belly and use the muscles of the back to lift our head and chest and upper arms represent the hood of the cobra. 


 4. Mayurasana (THE PEACOCK POSE) मयूरासन 

   It is a balancing pose. Practitioner puts the hands together on the floor, fingers pointing backwards. Then, resting on the elbows, lean forwards in order to allow the legs to lift off the floor. The chest and head mimic the body of the peacock as the skyward-reaching legs represents its plumed tail.  


 5. Hamsasana (THE SWAN POSE) हँसासन 

This pose is similar to peacock pose , except that the fingers face forward.


 6. Tadasana (THE MOUNTAIN POSE) ताडासन 

      It is a simple standing pose with the feet together and hands up high of your head . The practitioner needs to stand on toes . 

7. Vrikshasana (THE TREE POSE) वृक्षासन 

    It is a balancing pose on one leg. The foot of the left leg is lifted leg is placed on the inner thigh of the standing leg, and both hands are held high above the head, palms joined together. The legs represent the roots of the tree, buried underground, and the trunk of the tree begins at the trunk of the body, growing all way up through thew spine and arms ,which represent the branches. 

 8. Gomukhasana (THE COW POSE) गोमुखासन 

     This posture is said to resemble the face of a cow. From a seated position,the practitioner places one bent knee over the other, forming the cow's lips. One arm goes up laterally behind the back, and the fingers grasp the fingers of the other arm, which is bent over the corresponding shoulder. 

This asana tones and strengthens the ankles, hips, thighs, and shoulders. 



 9. Bakasana ( THE CRANE POSE ) बकासन 

     It is an arm balancing pose which looks like a crane standing in the water. It is performed by placing the hands on the ground, bending the elbows, and placing the knees on the back of the arms. In this pose the practitioner needs to fix the gaze on one spot , to find the proper balance.

Asanas Poses of the god


1.  Natarajasana ( LORD OF THE DANCE POSE ) नटराजासन 

    It is a standing balance posture that involves bending one knee and grasping the ankle or foot from behind . As the yogi then leans forward and kicks back with foot , an arm stretches forward to complete the pose. This pose is the physical embodiment of one of the many guises of Lord Shiva

2.  Virabhadrasana (THE WARRIOR POSE ) वीरभद्रासन 

   The series of warrior pose include three variations that could easily be considered the most iconic of the standing postures. All three are strong standing poses. The first is oriented towards the front, with arms up overboard ; the second is oriented to the side, with the arms outstretched ;and the third is again oriented to the front,but with arms outstretched forward, and the balanced on one leg. Although the three postures are generally not taught in succession, they all fit together and illustrate power and ferocity of the warrior . 

3. Hanumanasana, Anjaneyasana & Virasana हनुमानासन , अंजनेयासन  & वीरासन 

    These three poses are grouped together because they all illustrate the story of the beloved monkey God Hanuman who is the son of Goddess Anjaney . This pose is full split post, facing forward. It is a deep, kneeling lunge, and virasana is a seated pose designed to stretch the thighs and create healthy knee joints. 

4. Halasana (THE PLOW POSE) HAलासन 

  It refers to a plow that tills the dead earth to bring forth life. In this pose, the practitioner lies on the floor, lifts the legs up and over the head, placing the toes on the floor behind the head. It stretches the spine and the thyroid gland. It also balances the throat chakra

5. Kurmasana (THE TORTOISE POSE) कुर्मासन 

In this pose the arms are stretched out on the side of the body, the legs are over the arms, and the chest and shoulders ideally rest on the floor, resembling a tortoise with its legs out. The next stage, resembles a tortoise that has withdrawn into its shell. The hands are brought behind the body and the ankles cross behind the head. 

It lengthens the back muscles and helps to release tightness in the sacrum and lumbar region. 

6. Garudasana (THE EAGLE POSE )गरुड़ासन 

     The practitioner begins the pose by standing in tadasana and the hands at the side of the body, then bends the knees, brings one leg over the other, and if possible, good the foot behind the calf of the standing leg. The arm on the side of the body of the lifted leg is then hooked under the other arm. The benefits of the garudasana include strengthening and stretching the ankles and calves and improving balance. 

 7.  Simhasana (THE LION POSE ) सिंहासना 

      It is performed by sitting on the knees like a sphinx with the fingers outstretched. On the exhale, the practitioner sticks the tongue out and roars like a lion, while the eyes look towards the Ajna chakra( it is between the eyebrows).

This pose relieves tension in the neck and face, stimulates the thyroid, and helps to rid the body of toxins.

Asana poses of the sages

Here are all the poses of the sages . 

1.  Bharadvajasana ( THE HALF - LOTUS SEATED TWIST POSE ) भारद्वाजासन 

It is a challenging twist which is full of grace when fully accomplished. One leg is in half (leg bent with the foot on the outside of the hip , toes pointing backwards ), and the other leg in in a half lotus position ( foot high up on the inner thigh, with the knee moving towards the floor ). The practitioner takes a deep twist towards the leg that is in half lotus , and the hand on the same side reaches back to grab the big toe, completing the twist .

2.   Koundinyasana ( THE STRAIGHT LEGS SIDE CROW POSE ) कौंडिन्यासन 

This posture is easily reached from a parivritta bakasana , or side crane pose . Both legs are extended at opposite angles with the body is in a twisted position . Meeting the challenges of both versions of this posture requires a belief in oneself .

3.   Vasisthasana ( THE SIDE PLANK POSE ) वसिष्ठासन 

It is a challenging arm balance that strengthen all the major groups of the body ( arms, legs , core , and spine ). The practitioner balances on one arm , with the body straight and the fleet flexed sideways on the floor .

4.   Astavakrasana  (THE EIGHT ANGLE POSE ) अस्टावक्रसना 

This pose reflects the crooked profile of the sage. It is an arm balance which involves extending one leg over the other corresponding arm , extending the other below it, and crossing the ankles. When the body leans forwards,and the elbows are bent, the act of squeezing and straightening the legs allows the seat to lift off the floor . this challenging pose strengthens arms , wrists , and abdominal muscles .

1. PADMASANA ( LOTUS POSE ) पद्मासन 

     
     The lotus posture is the quintessential seated meditation posture,  which often eludes yogis whose hips have not yet softened through their Asana practice. With the feet crossed on the top of the thighs, this posture pins the thigh bones to the floor, creating a grounded seat and am effortlessly straight spine. The lotus is a potent symbol for the yogi and is often associated with the creative forces within us. Another powerful symbol of creativity is the sound of OM .

2. ANJALI & NAMASTE MUDRA अंजलि  & नमस्ते  मुद्रा 


    Anjali and Namaste Mudras are not Asana, but rather energetic seals, or symbolic gestures, which are commonly used in Asana practice. At the beginning of the practice, we typically bring our hands together in a prayer position while changing OM. Those who practice vinyasa - style Asana will bring their hands to prayer at the start and close of sun salutations as well as in warrior 1,with arms raised overhead. This gesture is a touchstone of the practice and has potent meaning that it's origin is worth a closer look.

3. CHAKRASANA ( THE WHEEL POSE) चक्रासन 

 
    Chakrasana, or the wheel pose, is a deep back bend. It is similar to upward - facing bow, except that in this pose, the hands "walk" close enough to the feet to grasp the ankles. When the hands and the feet connect, the body resembles a wheel or circle. This circle represents the completion of our internal energy circuit, which begin at the energy center that is located at the base of the spine and ends at the energy center at the crown of the head.

4. TRIKONASANA ( THE TRIANGLE POSE) त्रिकोणासन 


    The three angles ( tri Konas in Sanskrit)  of a triangle make it one of the strongest and most stable shapes in nature. In triangle pose, there are three triangle shapes made with the body ; one with our legs and the floor, a second one underneath the side of the body with the arm and front leg, and the third connecting the top hand and two feet.

5. SIDDHASANA ( THE PERFECT POSE) सिद्धासन 


    siddhasana means "perfect pose " or " pose of accomplishment " . It is performed by placing the left heel against the groin area, or perineum, and the right ankle over the left. Together with padmasana and sukhasana , it is one of the postures recommended for use in pranayama and meditation .

6. DHANURASANA ( THE BOW POSE ) धनुरासन 

In this pose the body bend backwards like an archer's bow , with the torso and legs representing the body of the bow and the arms , the strings . In addition to provide the general benefits of a backbend, such as creating openness in the upper spine and heart, this pose improves shoulder flexibility .

7. BALASANA ( THE CHILD POSE ) बालासन 



Balasana, also known as Child’s Pose, is a gentle resting pose that stretches the hips, thighs and legs while calming the mind and relieving stress and tension. During this exercise, make sure to maintain a focus on your breathing. We often forget to consciously focus on our breathing, taking full breathes throughout the entire exercise. Balasana’s dome shape provides the perfect pose for refocusing and enhancing the benefits of our inhales and exhales.

    Danda means 'rod" or "staff" . In the seated version of dandasans , the legs are straight and the torso is upright . In this pose body is straight like a stick and parallel to the floor , with only hands and feet touching it .

Now-a-days, hair-fall has become one of the most common problem for both men and women, this is due to the adoption of unhealthy lifestyle, pollution, stress, poor diet, hormonal changes and usage of detergents. These are considered to be the main threats and in order to have a strong hair we need to maintain a natural diet for healthy hair and also reduce the usage of chemicals on our hair.

1. Hair Oil Massage

HAIR OIL MASSAGE

Proper hair and scalp massage will increase blood flow to the hair follicles, condition the scalp, and enhance the strength of your hair’s roots. It will also promote relaxation and reduce feelings of stress.
You can use hair oils like coconut or almond oil, olive oil, castor oil, amla oil, lavender oil , etc. 
Direction -
  1. Take warm olive oil according to the length of your hair.
  2. Slowly massage it into your scalp and onto the strands of hair.
  3. Leave the oil on for 30 to 45 minutes and then wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
Note - Add a few drops of rosemary essential oil to the base oil for better and faster results. 

2. Indian Gooseberry

GOOSEBERRY
A fruit that is best known for its high vitamin C levels, the Indian gooseberry, is great for hair, adding lustres, softness and doing away with dryness of the scalp. It is also a rich source of essential fatty acids that serve to keep the hair follicles strong and nourish the hair from the roots .



  1. Direction - Mix one tablespoon each of Indian gooseberry or amla pulp and lemon juice.
  2.  Massage your scalp with the mixture thoroughly. Cover your hair with a shower cap.
  3.  Leave it on for at least 1 hour or overnight and shampoo your hair in the morning.

3. Fenugreek

FENUGREEK 

Methi seeds also called as methi Dana or fenugreek seeds are extremely beneficial in hair fall, hair loss etc. These fenugreek seeds have great capabilities of hair regrowth. Methi seeds can be used and applied as hair mask/pack, with hair oil or as a paste. Whichever way you use fenugreek, it gives benefits in controlling hair fall, preventing premature white/ grey, making hair roots stronger and enhancing the hair texture in general.


  1. Direction - Soak one cup of fenugreek seeds in water overnight.
  2. In the morning, grind them to make a paste.
  3. Apply the paste to your hair and cover with a shower cap. After about 30 minutes, rinse your hair.
  4.  Follow this remedy every morning for a month.


4. Onion Juice

ONION JUICE

Onion juice helps treat hair loss due to its high sulfur content, which helps improve blood circulation to the hair follicles, regenerate hair follicles and reduce inflammation.The antibacterial properties in onion juice also help kill germs and parasites, and treat scalp infections that can cause hair loss.


  1. Direction - Extract the juice of one onion by grating it and then strain it. Apply the juice directly onto the scalp. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, and then wash it off. Finally, shampoo your hair.
  2.  Mix together three tablespoons of onion juice and two tablespoons of aloe vera gel. You can also add one tablespoon of olive oil. Apply this mixture onto your scalp and leave it on for at least 30 minutes before rinsing it off and shampooing your hair.
5. Aloe Vera
ALOE VERA

Aloe vera contains enzymes that directly promote healthy hair growth. Also, its alkalizing properties can help bring the scalp and hair’s pH to a more desirable level, which can greatly promote hair growth.
The reason you may be tempted to use aloe vera as a hair fall treatment is calming aloe conditions the scalp. Aloe vera is an excellent natural moisturizer and skin conditioner. It can reduce flaky, itchy scalp and reduce dandruff. Aloe vera gel also helps reduce sebum, or oil, on the scalp.


  1. Direction - Apply aloe vera gel or juice onto the scalp.
  2.  Leave it on for a few hours and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
  3.  Repeat the process three to four times a week.

6. Licorice Root

LICORICE ROOT
 Licorice root is another herb that prevents hair loss and further damage to the hair.The mollifying properties of licorice roots open the pores, soothe the scalp and help get rid of irritations like dry flakes. This remedy is good for dandruff, hair loss and baldness.

Direction - Add one tablespoon of ground licorice root to one cup milk with a quarter teaspoon saffron( optional ). Mix it thoroughly.

Apply the paste on bald patches at bedtime and leave it on overnight.
In the morning, wash your hair.
Follow this remedy once or twice a week.


7. Beetroot

BEETROOT
Beetroot juice contains carbohydrates, protein, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and vitamins B and C. All these nutrients are essential for healthy hair growth.
  • Include fresh beetroot juice in your diet. In addition to that, spinach juice, alfalfa juice, lettuce juice, or carrot juice will help keep your hair healthy.
Direction - Grind a few beetroot leaves (boiled in water) along with henna and apply the paste on your scalp. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it out. Repeat several times a week.

  1. You can make fresh coconut milk at home by adding a freshly grated coconut to a pan of water.
  2. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Then strain it.
  3. Once cool, apply the milk thoroughly onto the scalp and into your hair. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and then shampoo your hair.
Note -To make the treatment more effective, you can mix black pepper and powdered fenugreek seeds to the coconut milk before using it.


The Dont's: Here is a list of don't that everyone should follow to protect the hairs from  the hair fall .
  1. Rubbing wet hair vigorously will lead to hair breakage. Avoid brushing wet hair for the same reason.
  2. Don’t tie your hair tightly all the time as it puts pressure on the roots and causes hair to fall.
  3. Heat in any form is bad for hair. Hot water, hair dryers and hair styling tools dry out the hair. Limit their usage. 
  4. Try not to use too many hair products as residue can build up. Rinse shampoo well to make sure hair follicles are not clogged.

What are pimples ?

A pimple is a small pustule or pa-pule. Pimples are small skin lesions or inflammations of the skin - they develop when sebaceous glands (oil glands) become clogged and infected, leading to swollen, red lesions filled with pus.

Pimples are also known as spots or zits

The development of pimples is primarily connected to oil production, dead skin cells, clogged pores and bacteria (although yeast infection can also cause pimples to develop).

Remedies to cure pimples


1. Use of ice

ICE

    You can use ice to fade your pimple .For a pimple that has not yet infected fully, ice can be utilized to diminish swelling and urge the oil organs to contract and push out the abundance oil and microbes from the disturbed organs.

   Direction - Wrap the ice cubes in a fabric and massage the infected area for a minute or two.

    Note - You can use the remedy as many times you want to do in a day and your pimple would flew within two to three days.

2. Use of Honey

HONEY

    Honey is known for its characteristic of being a disinfectant and can help demolish the microbes in the oil organs rapidly, serving to accelerate the mending methodology.

   Direction - Take a clean cotton piece and dip it in the natural honey. Now apply in into the skin flaws. Leave it at least for 30 min and then wash the face with warm water gently.

Note - You can use cinnamon powder to mix with the honey to make a paste.

3. Use of tea tree oil

TEA TREE OIL

Tea tree oil is a bless god treating soon flaws. It has antibacterial properties which cuts skin problems. It also prevents further outbreak. Plus because it is a natural product. So, side effects are less but if you see any while using it then immediately stop using it. 

Directions - Wash your face with Luke water and then post it dry. Take a cotton ball,  dip it in the oil and apply on effected area.  Keep it for 15 to 20 min and then wash your face. 

Note - If your skin is sensitive then first make sure to dilute the oil by adding it in water in a quantity of 1:9 ( oil : water) or avoid using it . You can also use the oil with aloe Vera.  Mix both and then you are ready to use

4. Use steam 

STEAM

Steam helps to open the pores and flushing out the impurities lurking deep within the skin. This function is admired by a lot of people.

Directions - Boil a pot of water,  pour into large bowl, and let it cool slightly. Place your fave above the bowl and drape your head with a towel to trap the steam. After 10 to 15 min,  remove the towel and pay your face dry. 

Note - Apply moisturizer after the steam.

5. Use of Apple Cider Vinegar

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

Apple cider vinegar ,has a pale medium Amber color,  is used in salad dressing, marinades,  food preservatives, chutneys, etc.  It works like a power house for the skin as it kills microorganisms that can harm your skin. And because it is a basic, makes it difficult for microbes to flourish. 

Directions - Wash your face and pat it dry.  Make a proportion of vinegar and water in 1:3 . Take a cotton ball , dip it in the proportion and apply to the flaws of the skin.  Leave it for at least 15 minutes.  Wash face and pat dry and apply skin toner. 

Note - You can apply it overnight too.

6. Use of Egg White

EGG WHITE

Egg white is known you easy, cost effective and proven way to remove pimples naturally. 

Direction - Wash your face with water and pat it dry. Now separate the whites from the yolks . You can use any number no eggs but normally 2 to 3 are enough . Now whisk the white until it is frothy and after it let it sit for 10 minutes. Apply 3 to 4 layers of  it to the face on the flaws of the skin . But make sure to let first layer dry before applying next . Allow the mask for 15 to 20 minutes before washing your face with Luke water . After the procedure apply some moisturizer.

Note - The yokes should be separated from the whites and only the whites should be whipped and apply.

7. Use of Papaya 

PAPAYA

Papaya in its raw form contains pa-pain which is a very powerful enzyme and reduce inflammation, and helps to prevent the formation of sebum and pus .

Direction - Wash your face with water and pat it dry. Mash the pulp of papaya until it has a good consistency which can be applied onto your face  . Apply it as a mask and leave it for at least 20 minutes . Wash your face with warm water .

Note - If your skin is still dry even after the procedure then apply the moisturizer .
           Raw papaya is best for the purpose .


8. Use of Orange peel paste


ORANGE PEEL 

Orange is rich in citric acid and Vitamin C.  Hence using orange peels and taking juice out of it and applying on the face could help dissolve pimples.  However,  it has to be done regularly and repeated more than twice a day.

Direction - Wash your face with water and pat it dry. Mash the peel of orange until it has a good consistency which can be applied onto your face  . Apply it as a mask and leave it for at least 20 minutes . Wash your face with warm water .

Note - If your skin is still dry even after the procedure then apply the moisturizer .
           You can use a blender to blend or mash the peel to get a good consistency and add a little water .


9. Use of Strawberries and Honey

STRAWBERRIES AND HONEY

Strawberries are rich in salicylic acid and therefore when mixed with the honey it could help a lot in getting rid of pimples naturally. This is because it helps the clogs to open up and leading to neutralization of bacteria.

Direction - Wash your face with water and pat it dry. Take at least 4 strawberries and mash them but with care ( don't over - mash ) . Ad two table spoons of honey and mix well to make a paste .  Apply it as a mask and leave it for at least 20 minutes . Wash your face with warm water .

Note - If your skin is still dry even after the procedure then apply the moisturizer .

10. Use of Aloe Vera Gel 

ALOE VERA GEL
Aloe Vera is used as traditional medicine for skin treatment , It has anti bacterial properties . It works as an anti-inflammatory and helps to decrease the redness and swelling . It soothes the skin and makes the body relax .

Direction - Wash your face with water and pat it dry. Apply aloe Vera gel directly to the face with the help of cotton ball . Leave it for 20 to 30 minutes . Wash your face with warm water .

Note - If your skin is still dry even after the procedure then apply the moisturizer .

11. Use of Banana Peel

BANANA PEEL

Lemon has many beauty benefits, such as lightening dark spots on your skin,  lightening  skin complexion, evening out skin tone, treating oily complexion.

Direction - Wash your face with water and pat it dry. Take a small piece of banana peel and rub it on the affected area for a few minutes until the inside of the peel turns brown. As it dries, your skin will absorb the vitamins and nutrients in the peel. Leave it on for about 30 mins. and then wash it off with warm water.


12. Use of Lemon Juice

LEMON JUICE
 Lemons are rich in vitamin C and citric acid, so they can help brighten and lighten your skin when used over time. Vitamin C is a great antioxidant for neutralizing free radicals and boosting collagen production. That means it can help lighten age spots, dark spots, or a fake tan gone wrong.


Direction - Wash your face with water and pat it dry. Apply to skin and let sit 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and moisturize.

Note - For a skin-lightening mask for dry skin, mix 1 tablespoon powdered milk, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, and 2 drops of essential oil. Apply to skin and let sit for 20-25 minutes.

13. Use Of Sodium Bicarbonate

BAKING SODA

Sodium Bicarbonate which is also known as baking soda , a natural substance that is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder. This alkaline substance has antibacterial, anti fungal, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also a powerful medical tool effective at combating everything from colds to oral problems to skin issues.

Direction - Wash your face with water and pat it dry. Now make a thick paste paste of water and baking soda . Scrub the mixture onto your face for at least 2 minutes and then leave the mixture at least 15 to 20 minutes . Wash your face with warm water .

Note - If your skin is still dry even after the procedure then apply the moisturizer .


14. Use of Garlic

GARLIC CLOVES
Garlic has large amount of allicin present in it and allicin has anti-fungal, anti-aging and skin smoothing benefits. It is also known to increase antioxidant levels of the skin and body.

Direction - Wash your face with water and pat it dry.Now cut a freshly piece of raw garlic and apply a little pressure on it to release some juice and then rub this garlic pod onto the affected area. Leave it for 5 minutes and was off with cold water. 

15. Use of Potato

POTATO

Apart from being used as a food source, potatoes have an important role to play in skincare as well. As pointed out earlier, they are rich in vitamin C which is vital for maintaining skin health. It helps to remove dark circles , wrinkles , dark spots , sun burn , skin lightening , dry skin , cleanser , eye puffiness and etc. 

Direction - Wash your face with water and pat it dry . Mix the 1 tbsp of meshed potato and 1 tbsp of lemon juice. Apply this paste on the face. It works as the natural facial bleach and lighten the dark skin complexion. Rinse it off after 10- 15 minutes.
